Christopher P. Scheitle is a Professor of Sociology at West Virginia University. He received his PhD from Penn State University in 2008.  

Broadly speaking, his research examines the social dynamics of religion in the United States. He has published five books, over one hundred research articles, and has been awarded over $3,500,000 in grants from agencies like the National Science Foundation and the John Templeton Foundation.
