Christopher P. Scheitle is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at West Virginia University. He received his PhD from Penn State University in 2008. He did his undergraduate work at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. Broadly speaking, his research examines the social dynamics of religion in the United States. More specifically, he studies how religion influences and is influenced by factors such as an individual's sexuality or exposure to science. He has also recently been conducting research on crimes against religious communities or individuals. Dr. Scheitle has published three books and over forty research articles. He has also been awarded two major grants from the National Science Foundation. |
